About Metabol IQ

Around 1 million Danes live with at least one chronic illness. Up to 400,000 Danes have an autoimmune disease, 1.5 million have an allergy, and over half of all adults are overweight. The numbers are increasing, and it's not just among the elderly, but in all age groups, even our children.

At the same time, Danes are getting older and older, but a longer lifespan is probably uninteresting unless good health comes with it - Who wants to live to be 100 years old if the last twenty of them are the epitome of illness, dementia, pain and poor function?

MetabolIQ is a Functional Health clinic, based in Functional Medicine & Nutrition . The goal is to help clients achieve better health and increase quality of life by working with and preventing the underlying causes of disease.

Where the conventional doctor's toolbox often results in symptom treatment (high cholesterol → medication to lower cholesterol), MetabolIQ works with nutrition, lifestyle and environmental influences, hormone (im)balances and genetics, and we ask:

  • WHY has the problem arisen?

  • WHAT can we do about it?

  • HOW do we make changes that my client can sustain in the long run?

My story

My name is Jette, I am a Functional Medicine practitioner , chiropractor, nutritional therapist and the founder of MetabolIQ . I am originally a qualified chiropractor (Cand. Manu) from the University of Southern Denmark, and have worked in the profession for several years both as an employee and with my own clinic. However, this was sold when my family and I moved abroad in 2018.

While we were living abroad, I became interested in Functional Medicine . The holistic approach to health appeals to me. I like the idea of looking for causes and maintaining factors of disease that can be influenced and changed, and from there working with prevention and health optimization to alleviate and/or alleviate symptoms.

I have therefore trained in Functional Medicine at IFM, the Institute for Functional Medicine in the USA, and have subsequently also trained as a Functional Nutrition Therapist at the University of Portsmouth in England.

My interest in functional health is a result of several different factors. I have several autoimmune diseases myself, I have both neurotypical and neurodivergent relationships in my immediate family. I have a family history of several different cancers, autoimmunity and metabolic diseases, such as high blood pressure, cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. This gives me a completely natural interest in preventing potential diseases and optimizing health.

I believe that body and mind are connected, and that it is important to address both to achieve the best results.
